Whenever I see a story about a woman who grows up to catch the eye of the boy she had a crush on as a teenager I get giddy. I mean, really, isn't it every girls dream to finally get the guy after pining after him for years?

Lucy is back in her small hometown, ostensibly to help out her sister through a difficult pregnancy although she is planning to take the time to get her life together. This return is not without difficulty: the two had a contentious relationship growing up, and Julia has a teenaged son who is, in all ways, a teen with all of the emotional ups and down.

My only complaint about this book is that I’m not sure that Lucy’s issues with her stepsister were ever addressed. I mean they never actually fight, there are little digs and comments, but then suddenly they are supposed to be on good terms?
